Reviews and Ratings
I had a really disappointing experience at The Goathland Arms. The location is charming and it's fun to visit a place known from 'Heartbeat', but the service was incredibly rude, making the whole visit uncomfortable. It felt like we were being rushed out even though there was no one else around. They also have limited opening hours, which is frustrating. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place, as it lacks the hospitality you'd expect from a pub.
I had a wonderful experience riding the Nymr steam train, which offered beautiful views of the countryside and the chance to stop at charming locations like Goathland. The staff at the station were friendly and helpful, making sure everything went smoothly. However, the toilets could use some improvement and it can get a bit busy, which might deter some visitors.
Our visit to the Aidensfield Arms for lunch was less than satisfactory. The location is lovely, aligning with the charming village atmosphere, but the service was almost non-existent, and the food was below average. While the decor retains some nostalgia, a little refurbishment could really enhance the experience. Overall, we were quite disappointed and unlikely to return.
My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. On one hand, the room was spacious and clean, and I truly enjoyed the delicious porridge at breakfast. On the other hand, the service was lacking, particularly during busy times, and the atmosphere was marred by loud music. Prices felt steep for what was offered, making it a mixed experience overall.
I had a pretty disappointing experience at the Goathland Hotel while visiting. The location is nice for steam train enthusiasts, but the service and food left much to be desired. The staff seemed uninterested, and the menu was very basic with low-quality offerings. It’s a real shame, as this place has potential but feels like they don't care about repeat customers.
We had a lovely break at the hotel, enjoying a fantastic breakfast every morning and a clean, well-equipped room. The dining area was cozy and family-friendly, perfect for our grandson. However, the staff experience in the pub was off-putting due to rudeness, which overshadowed our visit.
This place seems to trade on its past fame rather than delivering an enjoyable experience. While the ambiance has potential, it felt cluttered and outdated. The service was a massive letdown; the staff seemed disinterested and unfriendly. Also, the drink we ordered did not meet our expectations. It's disappointing, especially when you're looking forward to a good time.
